Complex assemblies are used in many current appliances as the market has demanded that appliances provide more than one function. The PM process often has significant advantages over other manufacturing methods due to net-shape or near-net-shape capabilities that drive dramatic cost improvements.
PM motor bearings, hinge components, clutch assemblies and other structural steel components are found in knife sharpeners, blenders, garbage disposals, food processors, washers and dryer, refrigerators and ovens.
