Sintered Stainless Steel Parts
Stainless Steel - 300 Series Alloy
Sintered stainless steel parts are generally selected because of their good mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, and appearance: SS-303 Austenitic Machining Grades - SS-303 is preferred for parts requiring extensive secondary machining. Strength and hardness are high and corrosion resistance is good. SS-303 is non-magnetic. SS-304 General Purpose Austenitic Grades - SS304 has good strength properties and corrosion resistance. A general-purpose grade used in many applications. SS-304 is non-magnetic. SS-316 General Purpose Austenitic Grades - SS-316 has the best combination of properties in a PM stainless steel alloy. Corrosion resistance is better than SS-303. First choice for stainless steel general purpose applications. Non-magnetic.
Stainless Steel - 400 Series Alloy
The 400 series stainless steels normally are selected for their magnetic properties or heat-treat response: SS-410-90HT Selected for its combination of strength, hardness and wear resistance. Carbon is added to increase the heat-treat response. This alloy responds to furnace cooling as a sinter-hardenable alloy. A secondary quench and temper process will increase hardness. Both corrosion resistance and machinability are poor.

testimonials
“We have a good working relationship with Atlas Pressed Metals and their complex part shapes are more cost effective than machined parts. We don’t have the need for a lot of PM parts, so we rely on Atlas for their expertise in this area. They are easy to work with and provide good customer support from design issues to production concerns.”
