Sintered Stainless Steel Parts
Stainless Steel powder metallurgy offers advantageous mechanical characteristics, corrosion resistance, strength, design flexibility and appearance. These powders can be processed using PM techniques to produce a variety of components with specific properties. Stainless steel powders are appropriate for producing components that need both corrosion resistance and elevated mechanical properties.
Stainless Steel - 400 Series Alloy
The 400 series stainless steels normally are selected for their magnetic properties or heat-treat response:
- SS-410-90HT Selected for its combination of strength, hardness and wear resistance. Carbon is added to increase the heat-treat response. This alloy responds to furnace cooling as a sinter-hardenable alloy. A secondary quench and temper process will increase hardness. Both corrosion resistance and machinability are poor.

TESTIMONIALS
“We have a good working relationship with Atlas Pressed Metals and their complex part shapes are more cost effective than machined parts. We don’t have the need for a lot of PM parts, so we rely on Atlas for their expertise in this area. They are easy to work with and provide good customer support from design issues to production concerns.”
