Our customer was buying a machined component out of expensive material that offered both good wear and corrosion protection.  Atlas recommended a two pieces assembled design that utilized the porosity of the part for lubricity while being able to plate the part for corrosion protection.  Additionally significant cost and lead time reductions were achieved.
