Atlas Pressed Metals' 45,000-sq-ft Addition Complete
Many of our customers and contacts have been following along the status of Atlas Pressed Metals' latest project - a 45,000-sq.-ft. building addition started this spring and now complete in time for an early November snowfall. A wide angle lens captured this pair of photos of the plant, located in Beaver Meadow Industrial Park, DuBois, Pa. The addition, designed by KTH Architects and built by Hallstrom Construction, brings the company's manufacturing plant total size to nearly 100,000 square feet.
This is Atlas' third addition to the original Tom Mix Drive plant and features 20-foot under-beam clearance at its peak and a gentle roof slope from the manufacturing space to finishing, inspection and shipping. The original shipping dock (not visible in photos) was retained on the west side of the plant.
Modern, efficient lighting was utilized throughout the new space. Original office space was retained and unchanged, but due to recent growth in professional staff and skilled labor, the sales department moved to a nearby office building last spring, availing office space at the plant for part that workforce growth. Total employment is currently around 115 employees, up 15% in 2018. Immediate use of the new space provided additional room for shipping, finished goods, work in process and inspection.
"With the building done we have turned our focus internally. Over the next several months we will install some new equipment including the installation of some secondary equipment to support increased demand," said Jude Pfingstler, President of Atlas Pressed Metals.
